Past Trials

SMSPC hosted a SchH trial and AD on October 1/2, 2011 with USA/SV Mike Hamilton.

 

Thank you Mike for your excellent judging and overall ability to make the handlers feel at ease during a trial. Also for making it much easier on the trial coordinator to do her job. :-)

 

The weather on Saturday was great for the dogs, but not so pleasant for the handler. Cool and very windy I think it caused many of us to worry about tracking. Sunday the winds continued, but the sun was shining and the conditions for the dogs doing the AD was excellent.

Saturday we had 3 SchH1 dogs, 1 TR1, 1 SchH3, 3 FH1 and 2 BH.

Our High in Trial winner who also earned the high everything else awards was SMSPC's own

Donna Trouten and her little GSD pocket rocket C'Varda zu Treuen Händen SchH1 OB1 TR1 CGC with a score of 284.

Also earning their SchH1 was SMSPC member Aida Severini and her GSD Lobo vom Hexenmeister SchH1 CGC

and Cindy Herweyer with her GSD Bell vom Haus Stavo SchH1

 

Our SchH3 dogs with his new handler, Raad Mesmer, was GSD Scar van Chakara SchH3

 

Next came our FH1 dogs who worked some very tough tracks in high winds. Congratulations to

Lisa Clark and her homebred female GSD Balien zu Treuen Händen SchH3 AWD1 FH1 (96 pts) CGC

Michael Barber and his GSD Sir Colby von Stonehill TR3 FH1 (95 pts) CDX

Unfortunately our third team had some bad luck and didn't pass. Thank you Sean Murphy for laying these tracks. I know you gained a new respect for the men who lay tracks at the big competitions.

 

The TR1 dog had a tough time with the conditions, but she worked very hard and managed to pass her track. Congratulations to Lisa Hammond and her GSD Fyurie vom Wildhaus TR1.

Sunday 5 handlers met at Heritage park in Adrian south of the club to bike their 12.5 miles around a beautiful wooded path. All 5 teams passed. Congratulations to:

Back at the club field we continued with two more BH dogs:

Brandon McDaniel with is Plotthound Louie McDaniel BH. Brandon also earned the High Performance in a BH award for all the hard work he has put into training Louie.

 

The day ended with an excellent seminar byMike on what a judge looks for and the new IPO rules that start 1-1-2012.
